We use the same mediums, write with the same letters of the alphabet, and for the most part, experience similar things in life. What we can control is how we make our marks when representing ourselves when writing our names & making art.

A few years back I met a person that became a real friend, Emma. Emma had this quirky, charismatic, sassy, full bodied companion- Elvis the Pug. Elvis was such a unique character; that I couldn’t separate the two of them in my mind.
In the recent past, Elvis became pretty ill and racked up quite the impressive stack of medical bills. He’s since passed on but managed to affect and bring joy to many lives - so much so that I created this Betty Boop flip to represent Emma and Elvis’ friendship.
Proceeds will go towards recouping the ridiculous amount of money that went to this charming Canines bills and stand as a cool keepsake for the ill individual he was.
Long live Elvis!

Emma’s Bond
As a kid that grew up in the streets of NYC going home wasn’t ever something I wanted to do. With so much going on outside all the time, the FOMO of missing a minute of it was overwhelming. In my mid 20s I found Elvis, a friend drove me to Pennsylvania for my birthday to pick him up; the bond was instant. Elvis was what made my home worth going home to.
Instead of being outside all the time, Elvis made me want to go home. He was my parole officer who let me know when I was doing too much. If I stayed out too late I’d come home to an upset pug who let me know it was unacceptable. When you first get a dog you train them and after a few years they start training you. Elvis calmed my life down, gave me a routine that I had to stick to, taking care of him meant taking care of myself. For 11 years I prioritized my life around Elvis, the routines he gave me changed my life for the better. He was my muse and we were each other's care takers.
